From Stem Cell TV Consumer news – Stem cells repair a damaged heart. This patient suffered a serious heart attack – at age 39 with 30% of his heart damaged. He volunteered for a unique study – becoming the first ever to received an infusion of heart stem cells.
The treatment was a combination of his heart stem cells, and stored stem cells. A challenge was coaxing more stem cells from his heart. The whole study was the brainchild of Dr Eduardo Marban of Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
